Basic Requirements

The IKHMG is looking for a high-energy, motivated individual to work alongside our field team to implement and monitor our various programmes. Potential applicants should have at least two years in a similar role in environmental management, ecology or forestry and have proven experience in managing, inspiring and being a team player,

You will require strong communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively implement IKHMG programmes and initiatives with an array of personalities, from private landowners, hapū and Iwi to Councils and other government agencies. Knowledge of the Maori culture would be beneficial.

You’ll spend a lot of time traveling within a 647,000 hectares office, so you’ll require a full Driver’s license with a good driving record. You must be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite applications and have strong computer skills. Knowledge of GIS systems would be highly regarded as well as bio-diversity and the development of planting plans, wetland creation and Farm Environment Plans.
