Te Kawa Waiora Research Hui Wananga

Reconnecting Northland in partnership with Waima, Waitai, Waiora will be holding the third in a series of hui wananga for Te Kawa Waiora. The project concerns the health, wellbeing & mauri of the Wairoa River & its tributaries including Wairua, Mangakahia, Manganui and Kaihu Rivers.

The hui wananga will be facilitated by Charles Royal, Research Lead, and supported by Celia Witehira, Project Manager and Hineamaru Davies-Lyndon, Oral History Researcher.

The purpose is to understan d the views of iwi, hapu, whanau and marae communites along the river and its tributaries regarding the river in history, its changes and what they beleive needs to be done now.
