Abstract:
Between November 1983 and April 1984 field surveys will be carried out in the Rodney-<b>Kaipara </b>region of Northland, the Eastern Bay of Plenty, Mackenzie Country and the Old Man Range, Central Otago to identify the key natural areas representing the natural ecosystems in those parts of New Zealand. This manual has been prepared for the regional survey teams by the Biological Resources Centre. Its main purposes are: 1. To guide and coordinate the scientific component of the PNA programme; 2. To provide a set of criteria for the scientific evaluation of natural areas in PNA surveys; 3. To provide standardised methods for: (a) field survey, (b) data collection, analysis and evaluation, (c) efficient information management
